Road Safety and Traffic Matters

Entry / Exit Points

  1. Vehicles should enter the school through the main gate along Dover Road. The side gate (Gate 2) is for staff entry only.
  1. Exiting vehicles may use the main gate and Gate 2. Please refer to Opening Hours for Gates for opening hours for Gate 2 and pedestrian gates.
  1. Vehicles exiting via the main gate are advised to turn right especially during peak hours.

Pick-up / Drop Off: Roundabout & Access Hours

  1. Please note that the traffic flow in and out of the school is single lane. As such, vehicle access is limited to pick-up and drop-off only. No parking or waiting is allowed along the roads or at the Roundabout.
  1. Reporting and Dismissal Times: The pick-up and drop-off point for parents and students is Level 1 Roundabout.
  1. The pick-up point for taxis and PHVs (Private Hire Vehicles) is the security post at the main gate.

Registration of Vehicles

  1. Only registered vehicles may enter and park in the school’s visitors’ carpark. A maximum of two vehicles per family can be registered.
  1. Parents / Guardians of newly enrolled students may register their vehicle car plate(s) and IU number(s) during the Year 1 / Year 5 registration phase or with the Estate Office. The registration is valid for the course of your child’s stay in the school.
  1. Subsequent changes to vehicle details should be made at the Estate Office using the Vehicle Registration Form. Please allow up to two weeks for the update to take effect.

Parking

  1. Parents and visitors should use the visitors’ carpark along Halls 1 – 4 and Carpark G which is opposite the Astroturf. Visitor car lots are marked in white. Lots marked in red are reserved for season parking vehicles. Season parking is not available for parent / student drivers.
  1. The visitors’ carpark is strictly for visitors. The lots are not to be used by student drivers.
  1. Alternative parking is available at the multi-storey carpark at Block 28 Dover Crescent Singapore 130028 located opposite the school.

Official Appointments / Access

  1. Parents / Guardians who have appointments with the school should park at the visitors’ carpark (along Halls 1 to 4 or Carpark G) and proceed to the ACS(I) Front Office. Do note that only registered or pre-cleared vehicles will be allowed to park within the school compound, subject to availability of car lots.
  1. Access to the Space Frame is only for pre-arranged vehicles. Strictly no vehicular access is allowed during morning assembly.
  1. Pedestrians should observe safety rules when crossing at traffic junctions and/or pedestrian crossings. Please refer to https://www.police.gov.sg/resources/traffic-matters/safety-tips/road-safety-for-pedestrians for more information. In particular, please note the following reminders:
  • Students should refrain from using mobile phones and/or other electronic audio devices while walking
  • Students should use the available footpaths and walkways, and not walk along the roads, whenever possible
  • Students should not cross at road bends and in between stationary vehicles, as the visual field is limited for both the pedestrian and oncoming vehicles
  • Students who are entering the school premises via the main gate from Fairfield Methodist’s direction should use the signalised pedestrian crossing, for their safety.

Use Of Bicycles & Personal Mobility Devices (PMDs)

  1. Students who travel to school on bicycles, personal mobility devices (PMDs) and power-assisted bicycles (PABs) must inform the school and submit the completed parental consent form available from the Learning Management System.
  1. Students are not allowed to use or park their bicycles, PMDs and PABs within the school premises. Outside of school, students are reminded to park their bicycles, PMDs and PABs in designated areas only.
  1. The Active Mobility Act (AMA) contains a set of rules and code of conduct for cyclists, as well as riders of personal mobility devices (PMDs) and power-assisted bicycles (PABs). Opening Hours for Gates & Roundabout

  1. The school’s main gate is open from 5.30 am to 11.00 pm on Mondays to Sundays. Please note that with effect from 2 June 2020, the gate operating hours have been adjusted in view of the staggered reporting and dismissal times.
  1. On Sundays and Public Holidays, the gate will be partially closed from 3.00 pm to 11.00 pm.
