Friday 4 January 2019, Singapore: Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) students received their results for the November 2018 International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Examination at noon today in school.

99.8% of the 444 student cohort were awarded diplomas. 357 (80.4%) achieved 40 points and above, with 268 (60.4%) scoring 42 to 45 points.

The school’s average score was 41.5 points, comparable with the previous cohort average score of 41.62 out of the maximum of 45 points.

Student results are determined by performance against set standards, not by each student’s position in the overall rank order.

Principal, Mr Arene Koh, congratulated the students on the completion of their IB Diploma Programme (IBDP). He said, “Today marks the finale of their IB Diploma Programme. We congratulate all who are have received their results. The IBDP provides a broad-based education and a number of them have done outstanding work as part of the diploma programme. We hope that they will continue to make a positive difference to those around them.”

Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. Psalm 106:1

Mr Koh also paid tribute to efforts and dedication of the school family, saying  “The results reflect the collective resolve of our students and teachers, and indeed the wider community who share and support our students’ aspirations.”

The school expresses its gratitude to the ACS Board of Governors, the Board of Management, the ACSOBA, the Methodist Church, MOE, parents and well-wishers for their advice, support and encouragement.
