The ACS (Independent) Minecraft campus project was initiated by Aloysius Wong from the Robotics Technology Society CCA. Due to the cancellation of mass-gathering events, he and his friends realised that the school would be unable to hold a traditional Open-House event. They wanted to then make use of their spare time to build a model of ACS (Independent) in Minecraft to showcase the school’s campus at their very own Virtual Open-House.
| Our ACS Forever
This film, shot by our Year 5 student Hanson Lu, offers a glimpse into our beloved ACS (Independent) campus that we call HOME. The school campus is captured as the primary subject in this work, and it was filmed during COVID-19. Year 5 student Collier Ow, inspired by the ACS Anthem, wrote an original composition and it forms the motif and aural background in this first-ever aerial feature of the school.
Hanson developed his aerial videography skills through the Robotics Technology Society, embarking on similar work with robots. Collier, on the other hand, furthered his talent in music composition through ACS(I)’s Music Elective Programme. Such educational opportunities to learn and grow from the school’s varied programmes culminated in this stunning visual and auditory experience, which is also an expression of both boys’ endeavours to Care, Serve and Excel.
